spring is finally here - good thing, cuz summer is just around the corner!
with these warm temperatures came the desire to hit the pathways and do some cruiser bike riding. i rode the just-re-assembled black bike (this is the 3rd version) with andreas in the chariot, dad on his found bike and nadia on the 57. there were so many people with smiles on their faces today - it was easy to feel blessed - especially with the tailwind home!
now - will the famously-sketchy Calgary weather stay nice for at least a week? Please?!

happy winter! oh shit, i forgot, i guess its been spring for over a month now - however looking outside these days confuses me.
i just wanted to pass on a "feel good" bike-related news item from calgary. have a look at this - maybe we can organize a "bikeparts drive" and donate some stuff to this valuable program...

the road to nepal - one of calgary's best rides. there are many variations of this ride - here is one variation that i really like.
you can ride it in either direction - both are tough, fast and beautiful. as a friend of mine once said, "the only thing better than hills - is hills with headwinds!" you can also add in all sorts of other loops and links if you aren't 'ascared of bashing over some gravel here and there!
for those of you that like the tough roads - welcome home!

here we go again...
my guess is mail delivery will be a tad later today...
ground level view...
...it is no wonder why canadian's talk about the weather as often as they do! what, with snow one day and double digit warm temperatures the next - how is a guy suppose to keep up with the forecast?
there is really only one thing to do on a day like today - build snowmen and drink hot coco!

we are on the cusp of what is arguably the most exciting 10-days of bicycle racing on the planet starting with the tour of flanders on sunday, ghent-wevelgem on wednesday, and culminating with the "Queen of the Classics" in 2 sunday's time.
to whet that whisltle of yours have a look at the video below...my money is on boonen for flanders and cancellara for roubaix.
who do you think will win?
